Her father abdicates in favour of her. If Nilfgaard lose then she still becomes Empress as rightful heir but her father is killed instead of abdicating. When you get the Witcher Ciri ending, when you gift her her sword, you see the joy radiate from her. She becomes what she was always meant to be. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt allows three possible endings for Ciri: she can become a witcher and live her life with Geralt hunting down monsters; she can become Empress and rule over Nilfgaard; or Geralt didn't force her to visit Emhyr, he only answer his opinion to Ciri, that she should see her biological father, because it could be they last meet ever. On my first playthrough, I went all out for the Empress ending; all so called positive reactions during Ending 2 - Ciri becomes a witcher During the Blood on the Battlefield quest, when Ciri won't be happy, tell her that you understand the burden she carry. Mandatory: Later in the same quest don't go with Ciri to emperor - instead go to Velen. In the Final Preparations quest convince Cirilla to go Towards the end of the LotL Emhyr decides to keep pretending the decoy girl is princes Cirilla and marries her. And the entire world believes that this is the actual Lion Cub of Cintra. Even Nimue didn't know about False Ciri until Condwiramus dreamt about her. And, low key, I think a lot of players still kind of want a power fantasy, despite the fact that the narrative of Witcher 3 goes out of its way to undercut any power fantasy aspects.
